Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am glad you stopped by to check out my recipes as well as some home improvement and crafting projects. I work from home and enjoy trying out new recipes and to log down my experiences — good and bad — right here for your perusal.
I was born and raised in Hawaii and now live in Upstate New York with my husband and our three cats: Sammy, Wolfie, and Trixie. We are expecting our first child in August (it’s a boy!) and can’t wait to see what the future will bring to our new family.
I graduated with a BFA in Painting from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and did some freelance paintings and illustrations, but my favorite forms of art come in the edible category. My hobbies have always been drawing and food, and as a kid I don’t think I preferred one over the other. :)
Cooking became more of a hobby when I found out about “Cooking Light” magazine and incorporated healthy cooking into a healthy lifestyle. That started me on a whole new way of looking at food and physical health, and allowed me to enjoy food even more as I found out about different kinds of diets and cooking styles through friends, family, and reading up on my own. I’ve learned about blood type dieting, experimented with gluten free baking, enjoyed Ayurvedic cooking, and made surprisingly tasty dishes using healthy raw foods (raw scones, anyone?)
I’m always eager to learn more delicious and healthful ways to expand my meal preparing repertoire, so please come back and visit for more foodery finds.
