Welcome to this month’s 23 Paws, brought to you by Cinnamon of Eat, Pray, Tri!
Every 23rd of the month pet lovers everywhere are welcome to link up their blogs to share stories about their pet. Don’t have a pet but love animals? No problem! All animal lovers are welcome, so come on and link up!
We have three cats and I love them all, but you can’t really feel true love for your pet unless you experience the frustrations that come with animal ownership…even more so with cat ownership. And our cats have been a bit buggy lately.
Wolfie has been waking up extra-early to make sure we get up in time to feed him. About 5:30 am he starts racing in and out of the bedroom, tearing up the carpet and chasing imaginary chipmunks back and forth, back and forth. When I finally come down to the kitchen and settle down in front of my laptop, he’s in my face reminding me about his breakfast:
But despite their regular meals and occasional snacks, we’ve been finding some “leftover dinner” on the kitchen floor, living room floor, and in our bedroom. I don’t know if it’s because they’re more antsy and fighty lately, or if they are not liking the food as much as they used to. The only difference in their diet has been the addition of tuna fish cat food, but I swear they love the stuff!
But most of the time they’re nice and quiet, and just hang around doing cat stuff, like napping:
Hiding in the flowers:
Making shadow puppets:
And ignoring potentially dangerous pests:
But no matter how independent they are, we will always find a way to have fun with them:
See you at the next 23 Paws!

Your cats seem to be as undisciplined and fun as ours. Well, they are cats after all ;-)
The pictures are beautiful!

Yes, very much undisciplined and fun! I think they trained us better than we train them. ;)

Gotta love cats. Crazy things. My new kitten combed into the duct work and we had to break open the furnace to get him out!

Thanks, Sammy likes to drink water by dipping his paws where they shouldn’t belong. I couldn’t get Wolfie to pretend-kill that roach…guess he knew better. ;)

I love the attitude in the rubber roach picture. Totally “don’t bother me with that nonsense.”

You got it right on the nose!

The pictures are beautiful, the one with the roach is very funny!!

Thanks, I hate roaches so touching that fake one took some bravery on my part! :)

Great pics; I particularly like the “feed mer…” short – it looks very familiar. Our mornings are not the same ever since Edo learned how to turn on the radio, something she likes to do when her stomach starts to growl at 5:30 or so. She used to knock stuff off of shelves to wake us, so this is a bit better.

Your cat sounds pretty clever! It seems they will try anything to wake us up. Our orange cat, Sammy, would paw at sheets of paper or magazines lying around, and this isn’t the best noise to hear when you’re trying to sleep! I’m sure he doesn’t think about how grouchy this makes me, he just thinks, “this usually gets her up,” and does what works. :)

I soo love that you link up. I have never had cats because I am allergic but I love to see all of the antics that they get into! Love the pic of the cat in the flowers and well…all of them!

Glad you like my cat pics! In real life they are mostly inactive (like Trixie and her foot-up-in-the-air pose) but when I catch them doing something cool or interesting, I rush for the camera!

Cats are not independent. They simply know how to maintain control over their waitstaff……………lol

Haha, they certainly have got me trained well! :D
